How can pemphigus vulgaris be managed?

My 35 years old sister has been diagnosed with pemphigus vulgaris for the last one and a half years. Now it has spread to her mouth and some parts of the body too. How can pemphigus vulgaris be managed? The doctor has prescribed Ceftum 250.

Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune, vesiculobullous disorder, which is usually a lifelong disorder. Steroids are the mainstay of treatment. There are various regimens for giving it. With pulse therapy, long term remission can be achieved in a significant number of cases. Other immunosuppressive, steroid sparing drugs are also required in most cases. Antibiotics are required for superimposed bacterial infections. Nursing care should be good.
